24 Light Anti-Aircraft/Anti-Tank Regiment RA (TA) was formed in November 1942 by re-designation of RHQ 24 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) with 86 & 491 Batteries plus 205 & 284 Anti-Tank Batteries from 82 Anti-Tank Regiment RA. In September 1944, RHQ 24 Light Anti-Aircraft/Anti-Tank Regiment RA (TA) was re-designated 24 Anti-Tank Regiment. 86 Battery converted to Anti-Tank and 491 Battery was disbanded. The Regiment was reconstituted as 524 (Bournemouth) Light Anti-Aircraft/Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
