98 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA)

98 Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was formed at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in April 1939. It was re-designated as 98 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in June 1940. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Command until coming under command of 2 Army in March 1944. It went to Normandy with 2 Army and fought through France to Antwerp in Belgium. The unit was placed in suspended animation in April 1946 in NW Europe. 98 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was reconstituted as 498 (Gloucestershire) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
