95 Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was formed at Washwood Heath, Birmingham in April 1939. It was re-designated as 95 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in June 1940. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Command until November 1941, based in Coventry in the West Midlands. In March 1942 it moved to India where it spent the remainder of the war. It was placed in suspended animation in March 1944. 95 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was reconstituted as 495 (Birmingham) (M) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
