77 (Welsh) Anti-Aircraft Brigade RA (TA) was formed in November 1938 by conversion of 82 (Welsh) Field Brigade RA (TA). It was re-designated as 77 (Welsh) Anti-Aircraft Regiment in January 1939. In June 1940 it was re-designated as 77 (Welsh) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA). The Regiment was lost at Java and was placed in suspended animation in March 1942. 77 (Welsh) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was reconstituted as 282 (Welsh) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
