74 Anti-Aircraft Brigade RA (TA) was formed in November 1938. It was re-designated as 74 Anti-Aircraft Regiment in January 1939 and adopted the title “City of Glasgow” in September 1939. In June 1940 it was re-designated as 74 (City of Glasgow) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA). It served mainly in the Middle East. The Regiment was placed in suspended animation in November 1944. 74 (City of Glasgow) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was reconstituted as 474 (City of Glasgow) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
