73 (Northumbrian) Field Brigade RA (TA) was converted in December 1936 as 62 (Northumbrian) Anti-Aircraft Brigade RA (TA). It was re-designated as 62 (Northumbrian) Anti-Aircraft Regiment in January 1939. It became 62 (Northumbrian) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in June 1940. The Regiment was placed in suspended animation in December 1945 and 62 (Northumbrian) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was reconstituted as 462 (Northumbrian) (M) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
