172 (Mixed) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was formed at Woodthorpe House, Nottingham in August 1942. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Command in Nottinghamshire for its entire existence. 172 (Mixed) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) disbanded in April 1945 at Worlingham Hall, Beccles, Suffolk.
