61 Anti-Aircraft Brigade was created in November 1940 in the newly formed 9 Anti-Aircraft Division. It was created by splitting off part of 45 Anti-Aircraft Brigade and was responsible for the defence of Swansea and Milford Haven.
On re-organisation in October 1942 61 Anti-Aircraft Brigade became part of 3 Anti-Aircraft Group based at Bristol.
