18 Anti-Aircraft Brigade was raised in the UK and sent to Egypt by January 1943. The Brigade provided Anti-Aircraft defence for Alexandria and other places in Egypt to the end of the North Africa campaign. By August 1944 they were the only remaining Anti-Aircraft Brigade in Egypt. By December 18 Anti-Aircraft Brigade had ceased their operational role although some training teams were left to assist the Egyptian Army.
