12 Anti-Aircraft Brigade

12 Anti-Aircraft Brigade was formed in October 1939 with responsibility for the airfields of the Advanced Air Striking Force of the RAF in France. On return to the UK the Brigade served with Northern Command and AA Command. It moved to Egypt in April 1941 and fought through the desert campaigns and into Tunisia. In September 1943 it moved to Italy and served there until disbandment. 12 Anti-Aircraft Brigade was stood down in May 1945 and was employed in transport, guard and POW duties until disbanding in November 1945.

Note: When a unit designation is two number blocks seperated by a slash (/) this means it is a battery followed by the regiment it is from e.g. 210/73 is 210 Battery from 73 Regiment.

Illustrations of the formation badges under which a unit served or supported are given. This is no guarantee that the unit used this formations badge.
