1 Anti-Aircraft Brigade

1 Anti-Aircraft Brigade was formed in 1920. Its name was soon changed to 1 AA Group as the RA were still using the term Brigade for what was later to become Regiment for a Lt Col’s command. On the change to Regiment 1 AA Group became 1 Anti-Aircraft Brigade. The Brigade went to France with the BEF joining AA Command on its return to the UK. It moved to the Middle East in January 1942 and spent the rest of the war there.
