
The Bofors 37 mm Anti-Tank Gun entered service in 1934 with a number of countries. It came into British use in the Western Desert as there were insufficient 2 pdrs after Dunkirk. The guns had been bought by the Sudan and passed to the Anglo-Egyptian Army. The guns were mostly carried in Portée on the back of a truck.
