127 (Queen’s) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA)

127 (Queen’s) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was converted in February 1942 from 63 Searchlight Regiment. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Command until March 1944 when it transferred to 21 Army Group. Its role in Normandy was to protect the Mulberry artificial harbour which it did until October 1944. The Regiment then moved to Antwerp and finished the war there manning the South Scheldt defences. 127 (Queen’s) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA)was placed in suspended animation in March 1946 and re-constituted as 598 (Queen’s) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
