11 Anti-Aircraft Division

11 AA Div

The Division was created on 1 November 1940 by taking two Territorial Army brigade areas, the 34 (South Midland) and the 54 Brigades, from 4 Anti-Aircraft Division in North West England and adding a Regular Army headquarters from 1 Anti-Aircraft Brigade, recently returned from the Dunkirk evacuation

Re-organisation of Anti-Aircraft Command in October 1942 saw the divisions disbanded and replaced by a smaller number of Anti-Aircraft Groups. 11 Anti-Aircraft Division merged with 4 Anti-Aircraft Division into 4 Anti-Aircraft Group based at Preston in Lancashire
