414 Battery Royal Horse Artillery had been a battery in 104 Royal Horse Artillery (Essex Yeomanry) (TA). In January 1942 it was detached and sent to Burma (Myanmar) under 7 Armoured Brigade. 414 Battery Royal Horse Artillery was expanded in August to form 14 Royal Horse Artillery.

In August 1942, 414 Battery was informed it was to be expanded into a two battery Regiment. Until a name for these new units was decided it would be known as X RHA with 414 & Y Batteries. On the 1 September 1942 the new regiment came into being as 14 Royal Horse Artillery. It was now a three battery Regiment with the original 414 Battery, the recently independent 524 Battery and the newly formed 525 Battery (ex Y).

150 Royal Horse Artillery (South Nottinghamshire Hussars Yeomanry) (TA) was formed as a duplicate of 107 (S Notts Hussars Yeomanry) RHA (TA) in June 1939 with two batteries. The Regiment was converted to 150 (S Notts Hussars Yeomanry) Field Regiment RA (TA) in June 1940. It was reconstituted as 350 (S Notts Hussars Yeomanry) Heavy Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.

106 Royal Horse Artillery (Lancashire Yeomanry) (TA) was converted from 106 (Lancashire Yeomanry) Field Brigade RA (TA) in November 1938 with two batteries. The unit formed at Shaw Street Liverpool. On its arrival in North Africa in August 1940, the Regiment was employed as a Light Anti-Aircraft/Anti-Tank unit. 106 Royal Horse Artillery (Lancashire Yeomanry) (TA) was converted to 106 (Lancashire Hussars) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in March 1941. It was disbanded (later in suspended animation) in July 1941 and reconstituted as 306 (Lancashire Hussars) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
