85 (East Anglian) Mountain Regiment RA (TA)

85 (East Anglian) Mountain Regiment RA (TA) was converted from 85 Field Regiment in September 1943. The Regiment was reconstituted as 285 (Essex) Airborne Light Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.

7 Mountain Regiment RA

7 Mountain Regiment RA was formed in October 1943 as “X” Mountain Regiment, but was soon numbered. The Regiment was disbanded in September 1945.

3 Mountain Regiment RA

3 Mountain Regiment RA was formed with two batteries from 1 Mountain Regiment in December 1942 at Muir of Ord. The Regiment was disbanded in January 1946.

2 Mountain Regiment RA was formed in March 1941 at Watford. The Regiment was disbanded in June 1941.

1 Mountain Regiment RA

1 Mountain Regiment RA was initially formed as 1 Pack Regiment in December 1940. It was re-designated 1 Mountain Regiment in January 1941. January 1942 it moved into winter quarters at Edinburgh and Dalwhinnie. In April the Regiment was training in Wales keeping Weedon as a base. Training shifted to Aviemore in July 1942. In December 1942 the Regiment split to form 3 Mountain Regiment. In October 1944 it was converted to 1 Light Regiment RA and back to 1 Mountain Regiment in June 1945. It was disbanded at Brucklay Castle, Aberdeenshire in September 1945.
