3 Forward Observation Unit (Airborne) RA

3 Forward Observation Unit (Airborne) RA was formed in June 1944 with a mixture of Royal Artillery and Royal Canadian Artillery personnel, some coming from Naval Bombardment Units. The unit returned to the UK in June 1945 and its younger members were posted to 2 FOU. The unit was disbanded in October 1945 with the remaining personnel going to 1 FOU.

2 Forward Observation Unit (Airborne) RA

The 2 Forward Observation Unit (Airborne) RA was formed in August 1944 at Whitebourne Dauntsey, Wiltshire. It served with 6 Airborne Division It was re-designated 2 Forward Observer Troop in August 1946 and then as 334 Forward Observer Battery in April 1947. It was disbanded in July 1948.
