73 Anti-Aircraft Brigade joined 8 Army on Sicily on 19 July 1943. On the 1 October it transferred to Allied Forces HQ troops. When the invasion of Italy took place 73 Anti-Aircraft Brigade remained on Sicily.

67 Anti-Aircraft Brigade was raised in May 1941 by splitting off part of 34 Anti-Aircraft Brigade. It was assigned to 11 Anti-Aircraft Division covering the West Midlands. By May 1942 the Brigade consisted of a single Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment. This was because of units leaving to train for the invasion of North Africa. Some were being moved south to cover the Baedeker raids along the south coast. The Brigade was then built up again and in June 1942, 67 Anti-Aircraft Brigade transferred to 9 Anti-Aircraft Division in South Wales. In October 1942 the Brigade came under 3 Anti-Aircraft Group.
